Royal Blue Torpoint Ferry
Before the Tamar Road Bridge was completed in the early sixties there were two ferry crossings between Devon and Cornwall on the lower reaches of the River Tamar which forms the boundary between those two counties. The upper one at Saltash was replaced by the new bridge, but the lower ferry at Torpoint still exists to this day and cuts off many miles for vehicles needing access to Looe. Here one of Royal Blue's famous Bristol coaches leaves the ferry on the Cornwall side with the Naval dockyards of Devonport visable in the background.
