Albion Clydesdale
This LAD Albion started life as a flat for Haliday of Palnackie in Scotland hauling pit-props for the National Coal Board. The initials LAD denoted Leyland, Albion, Dodge who shared the costs of development of the all steel cab, most cabs up till then being coachbuilt on wood frames. Although cheaper to produce and obviously safer in the event of an accident it lacked interior space and good visability. The vehicle itself was eventually rebuilt by Halidays to a crane lorry for hauling out timber and towing duties.
