Scammell R8 1948
Scammell lorries best known for their articulated vehicles also produced a rigid eight-wheeler in the form of the R8 8x2 from 1935 and the vehicle changed very little in appearance or for that matter specification until the introduction of the Routeman I in the late fifties. The close coupled wheel-sets gave them an appearance quite unlike their contemporaries of Leyland or A.E.C. manufacture.
