The bonneted Scammell Highwayman always presented an impressive sight especially coupled to a tanker with the characteristic balloon tyres. Shell/BP ran quite a fleet of these lorries and they certainly looked the part in the smart red and green livery, in the background a much modified Commer carries a load of car body shells to a Coventry factory in the days when Midlands’ factories actually exported cars to all corners of the Globe.
